New Personal Record: Six Miles in 90 Minutes

This morning before it got too hot I walked to town in a mere 90 minutes. That is an average speed of 4 miles an hour or one mile every fifteen minutes over unpaved roads. My usual time is about 120 minutes or only 3 miles an hour. For somebody whose health was an absolute wreck five years ago I think today's walk was a pretty good accomplishment.

What was wrong with your health five years ago??? If you want to write about it here.
I was in IReland last year in February and we walked and walked there and I didn't count the miles or kilometers, but I was in an excellent shape. Then in March I went to doc's for a formal check up and was such a boast, told doc - see how good my health is?? My lifestyle sucks in any possible way, but Im still good. Ha!

I had very high blood pressure due to an enlarged liver caused by excessive long term drinking. I quit drinking four years ago and made a full recovery in about a year. I also added about 30 years to my life expectancy.

Wow! Unbelievable! You drank! I'm shocked :))
I quit drinking about a month ago. Since I sold my house and moved into this dull apartment without any garden and oportunity to go outside and do something there, I don't know.. probably it's the feeling that I have nothing to do here but be on computer and drink, so I drank. It was under control, but I was able to drink up real big amounts without getting that "drunk feeling", when I started to feel bad without knowing what is causing it, I thought it would be a good idea to stop drinking anyway. So I did it.

I'm so glad you are OK now :D
